Meet Melina Bernecker

Meet Melina Bernecker. Melina has committed to racing for Primal Pro Women in 2013.

Melina dominated the Southern California criterium scene last year. She doesn't sit and wait for the sprint. She is off the front over and over and over again. And if necessary, she has some speed at the end. Team oriented, Melina is ready to light it up on the NCC scene.

When asked about the up and coming season, Melina stated, "I am excited to be riding with the Primal girls in the 2013 season and am looking forward to kicking goals both in racing as well as fulfilling our team motto of leaving something behind and mentoring our future cyclist."

What are doing in your community to mentor/promote cyclists? I have a mentoring role with Velo La Grange Cycling Club with the Cat 3/4 girls teaching them bike skills etc. I run a local group ride for my current sponsor Bike Effect once a month to encourage riding and racing as well as a morning tea to promote sponsor products and th importance of bike fitting etc. What you like to do when you are not bike racing? Sleeping… walking my dog Peppa, drinking wine and eating with family, friends and my lovely hubby! Occupation off the bike: Managing Director for Levbern Properties LLC – Real-estate Development and Investment Company Your most memorable experience on and off the bike: My most memorable experience on the bike was winning the Masters World Championships in Austria. The scenery could not have been more beautiful and the feeling of crossing the line first was indescribable and one I will never forget. As to experiences off the bike but holding my nephew in my arms when he was only a few minutes old would have to rank up there at the top. What tunes inspire you?
